MGM Grand Hotel Review

MGM Grand, Las Vegas, a MGM Mirage property, is North America's Leading Conference Center. Five years awarded the Platinum Choice Award and eleven years granted the Pinnacle Award, the Conference Center has just added the new Marquee Ballroom which holds six thousand people, has wireless internet, and is able to host trade shows as well as formal functions. Although too numerous to mention, the MGM Grand, since 1997, consistently and continually wins award after award from business, travel, convention and event magazines. So advanced technologically, the hotel offers special rates by texting on a cell phone.

To complement their conference experience, MGM Grand provides elegant table settings for corporate meetings and dinners through their excellent banquet and catering services. Themed parties with exquisite, gourmet food are masterfully crafted by their award winning chefs. In addition to the food, MGM Grand Productions creates spectacular lighting displays for meetings, final night galas, weddings, and even arranges floral and prop displays.

The restaurants within MGM Grand offer fine dining, casual dining and snack foods or cafés. The hotel boasts Joël Robuchon, the legendary and world renowned French chef, whose restaurant seating is limited to sixty guests and where fancy dishes are served at five hundred dollars a plate. “Craftsteak”, another fine dining restaurant, although considerably less expensive, features celebrity chef Tom Colicchio who prefers to cook using the finest ingredients from family farms. Simple but excellent tasting dishes, that appeal to all tastes, are his signature style.

Visiting the MGM Grand for the Grand Pool Complex is a treat in itself. A tropical paradise featuring lush surroundings, five swimming pools, three whirlpools, a river, bridges, fountains and waterfalls, this gorgeous pool area offers the most luxurious cabanas to complete the island ambiance. And if you wondered what a cabana at MGM Grand means, it is not a little canvas tent with poles, but rather a luxury “suite” with private patio, television, safe, fridge, fruit, nuts, drinks, and food if requested.

For those who prefer entertainment rather than island paradises, MGM Grand has a very busy schedule with its spectacular displays including Cirque du Soleil, The Lion Habitat, Hollywood Theater, and Garden Arena with a seating capacity of over seventeen thousand.

As you would expect from an award-winning hotel, known in the hospitality industry for superior service, the concierge is available to fulfill most requests. Should guests require taxis, car rentals, or limos, reservations to dinner, nightclubs or golf courses, babysitting services, sight-seeing tours, or maybe just directions, the concierge will extend every courtesy.
